Last Friday I shared the "good" pictures from our trip to the Knoxville Zoo. They're the "good" ones b/c they were taken with my actual Nikon camera. Sadly, some idiot (me) didn't bother to charge said camera the night before and so the battery quickly died. That resulted in the remaining pictures having to be taken with a boring ole cell phone. LOL
So with all that said, these pictures may not be as crystal clear as the first set, but here you go anyway. ☺
I was really disappointed the batteries died when they did b/c these owls were just too far away to get good clear shots, but I did the best I could.
We see these next critters all the time but they're still too adorable to NOT take pictures of. LOL
They had a cute little Kids Cove, a play area that I don't remember being there when I took Chris years ago (he was probably around McKayla's age when he went and he's 16 now). They had a Petting Zoo:
And a Parakeet/Budgie area. These little birds are BRAVE! They'd come zooming over your heads close enough your hair would move! Crazy! LOL
They also had a mini-playground of sorts that had climbing ladders and slides that went through the Parakeet/Budgie habitat. McKayla was too fast to get any pictures of her there tho. LOL
After spending some time in the Kids Play area, we resumed our tour of the Zoo. ☺

Seeing these next couple of species was kind of bittersweet. Both had injuries that prevented them from being able to survive in the wild so are stuck for life in a Zoo but at least they were still alive and we can learn more about them.
The male Eagle had been shot and his wing was broke as a result. It couldn't/wouldn't heal properly so he can't fly very well anymore. The female Eagle was injured in the nest and her right leg and left wing was crushed.

Not sure about the story of the Wolf. One was a tripod......missing a front leg. Could've possibly been caught by a trap or got in a fight or countless other reasons but at least he's safe and fed and as happy as a wild animal can be behind a fence.
See bittersweet, right?
Well, I guess I'll end this entry of Furry Friday Zoo Trip here. Hate to leave it on a bittersweet note but I've already shared quite a few pictures this time and I'd hate to bog anyones computer down LOL No worries tho, I have a lot more to share with you, so just be patient. ☺
So stay tuned for next Furry Friday's edition for more Zoo pics! :-D
