Slim Down Sunday~ June 20th - June 26th

Another week of sorely lacking in Yoga or Zumba. Stars just aren't aligning for me the last couple of weeks, but I'm not giving up. Still counting calories. Still making more effort to just be moving instead of vegging on the couch. Baby steps. :-D
A lot of this week was spent going to Dad's new house to help where I could and by the time I get home, the last thing I want to do is Yoga. Haha

Saturday, June 18th Spent several hours swimming. That's a lot of work, especially when you're tossing a 50lb kid into the water......she asked for it. No, seriously, she asks to be tossed into the water. LOL

Wordless Wednesday ~ When Lawnmowers Attack

(Happened Sunday, window replaced yesterday, thankfully11 years of living here. 11 years of parking 5 different vehicles there. 11 years of mowing. Not ever again! LOL)

Slim Down Sunday~ June 6th - June 12th

In my goal for weightloss/toning and firming, I've checked a couple websites to get an idea of what my recommended calorie intake was and adjusted my FitBit app to reflect that and even checked to see what weight I'm "supposed" to weigh to have sort of a guideline/goal weight.
I read that a good rule of thumb is that your calorie intake should always be less than your calorie output in order to loose weight/fat.

"......keep in mind this general rule of thumb: ladies, don't go below 1200 calories and guys, don't go below 1800 calories a day. Your body burns up most of its daily calories just by keeping your body alive -- even while you're alseep! It needs fuel (calories) to do this."

VBS Party

VBS is this week and while there wasn't anything blog worthy (other than my announcement that McKayla asked God into her heart of course!) to share, I figured I WOULD share the awesome party they threw for the kids yesterday!
Inflatables!
And not just any kind of inflatables but WATER SLIDE inflatables! How cool is that?! I was half tempted to jump in a few of them myself, it was so hot, but I played the boring responsible adult and just followed McKayla and my niece from slide to slide.
They also had free hot dogs, chips, drinks and Little Debbie snack cakes but let's face it, that's not as important as WATER SLIDES!!! ROFL





We spent about 2 hours there and by the time they were closing up "shop", I was absolutely exhausted. McKayla and I BOTH slept like a log last night. LOL

Oh Happy Day!

Sorry, but there will be no pictures and this'll be short and sweet but I just HAVE to share the good news!!!!!

This week is VBS and today my baby girl asked God into her heart!!!!!!

Ahhhhh!

I just want to scream it from the rooftops and dance in the street!

She's been wanting to be baptized for awhile but we think it's b/c she saw her cousin get baptized last year but after talking to the youth pastor tonight, he's confident this is coming from her heart.

We have a "class" to go to tomorrow night so that they can explain to the parents how they talked to the kids and to help the kids learn a little more about what it means to be saved and baptized.

And then we schedule the baptism!!!!

2nd Annual Family Fun Day 2016

Today was John's work's Annual Family Fun Day. Once again, it was at the local Amusement Park but they had 2 semi-fails: 1) they waited too late to rent the park, so Sunday was the only day available and 2) there was a chance of rain all. day. long.
The 2nd fail ended up working in our favor; with the chance of rain, we pretty much had the entire park to ourselves! No wait times for ANY rides and we were able to ride a few of them several times.
Just like last year, they provided the tickets, a goody bag (with shirt, water bottle and pad and pen) and lunch tickets. They also had really awesome giveaways, but all John won this year was a lousy t-shirt. LOL
And just like last year, we spent the biggest majority of the time at the Water Park, however, with the threat of rain and lack of people, we were actually able to ride the huge water slides this time. Unfortunately, with it being a Water Park and my phone NOT being waterproof, no pictures :-(

Slim Down Sunday ~ May 30th - June 5th

So as I mentioned in my last post, I've decided to resurrect Monthly Measure and Fitness Friday posts (although changing Fitness Friday to Slim Down Sundays).

So here's my first entry. I won't blame you if you skip this and any other MM or FF(SDS) posts b/c I'm just talking about what I've accomplished, but this time I'll be adding in screenshot stats from my Fitbit Charge HR. :-D

Wednesday afternoon June 1st: Co-worker and I checked out a gym and fell in love with all the equipment and everything they offer. I'm pretty sure we're going to join but it'll be next payday before we do. Bonus is that when I DO join, the package I'm getting allows me to bring a guest free of charge and they get all the benefits that I'll get. Hello spouse workout evenings! Haha

Monthly Measure ~ A Reboot ~ 6/1/16

There for awhile, I was doing really well with measuring, weighing and exercising, documenting my progress with Monthly Measure and Fitness Friday posts and then it..........just.........kinda........fizzled.......out.
Well, after the "plus size" remark the other day and weighing myself, I've decided to restart Monthly Measure and Fitness Friday.
Lucky you. LOL (I don't expect anyone to look forward or even enjoy my MM or FF posts but I'm doing it for me to have a record to look back on.)
A co-worker and I are checking out a gym today that offers membership with unlimited usage of gym equipment starting at $10 PLUS a free personal trainer, all the way up to $20 a month with access to tanning beds, massage tables, massage chairs and all these wonderful gadgets. Then tomorrow, we're checking out a Zumba class a friend of mine teaches at the local Y. And I plan on getting back to doing Yoga again.
I gotta do something. And now that I have someone to answer to,…
