Furry Friday ~ No Space

I've mentioned it before, but we have a pretty good sized sectional sofa with plenty of room for all 4 of us PLUS the dogs. So it stands to reason that if there's only one of us on said couch with the dogs, we'd have lots of room to sprawl out.
Well, we probably would if it wasn't for my dogs being snuggle buddies. And ya know what? I'm perfectly happy with that. Until I have to get up and then I have to listen to their grumbles. LOL

I'm sensing a pattern here..........While I'm slightly disappointed in myself, even though I convinced myself to go walking one day when it was freezing and I just wanted to stay inside, I'm not giving up on myself. Only *I* can do this and I only have myself to answer too. I just wish I'd be harsher on myself. LOL

Another Birthday Rolls Around

8 years old. Wow.
On her McKayla's actual birthday, we took her out to a restaurant of her choice (Mexican) and then to Wal*Mart for her to pick out a couple toys (which has been our tradition - going to her restaurant of choice and shopping day of). This past Sunday was her birthday celebration at Chuck E. Cheese (her 3rd consecutive party there I might add.....girl is in a rut! haha). (I have a brief rant but that's buried at the bottom of the post)
Sunday morning dawned bright and early and with snow on the ground! We decided to head out for breakfast and to check out the snow but sadly the further North we went (and we went a ways LOL), the less snow we came across.


After our joy ride, breakfast and chilling at the house, it was time for the party! Not much else to say; so I'll just say that she had a blast, ran the full 2+ hours we were there and didn't stop smiling the whole time.

Yeah, pretty ugly week compared to week before when I had a lot of green but I guess that's the nature of it. No real excuses other than storms the better part of last week, so that meant no daily walks. Yes, I could have done stuff INSIDE the house but I didn't, so there's that. Not gonna sweat it, just move on and try and do better…

2nd Grade Student-led Conference

Yesterday was another student-led conference. Unlike the Kindergarten and 1st Grade conferences, McKayla wasn't asked to portray a character this time (although after talking to her teacher, she wanted to pick McKayla but also wanted to give another student a chance to do it) and I'm completely ok with that. It meant I didn't have to make anything or help her memorize any lines! LOL It also meant we were only there long enough for her to show us how she's doing vs having to stay the entire 3 hour window. Eck.

Anyway, on to the actual conference. The girl is still rolling ahead with all A's! She says it's getting a little bit harder now, so the fact that she's still getting those A's, really pleases me. I'm not gonna be that Mom that pushes too hard for A's but I'll certainly reward and praise her when she gets them and especially keeping them.

We asked about her Accelerated Reader (AR) points as I was a little confused with the website. She …
